Flat pebbles for a heart-warming lockdown keyworkers initiative
Back in the Spring, at the height of the pandemic, Milestone helped to shine a little light into the dire situation faced by UK keyworkers by donating flat pebbles to the amazing North Yorkshire initiative Yarm & Eaglescliffe Rocks.
The charity creates and sells unique, hand-decorated rocks to raise money for a variety of great causes in its local area. Kathryn, one of the scheme’s hard-working representatives, contacted Milestone in need of flat 50-70mm pebble stones that were to be painted with beautiful illustrations and encouraging messages, then sent out to raise the spirits of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, teachers, post workers and delivery men who were tirelessly servicing the community throughout the nationwide lockdown.
As soon as our Director, Matt Coussens, got wind of the fact that these products were going to be used for such a fantastic cause, he waived the cost and sent on several bags of these smooth, paintable pebbles to the North East for free.
The charity has since been in touch to let us know that our donation enabled them to send out over eight hundred ‘Thank You’ rocks to hospitals, schools, supermarkets and various other local shops in North Tees, Hartlepool, Stockton-on-Tees, and the surrounding areas.
Here are a few photos of the finished works!
Yarm & Eaglescliffe Rocks says:
“Thanks again for the donation, it made sure we could achieve our goal and thank all of those incredible people who kept our local area running during lockdown.”
